Ordering
I get almost constant emails, facebook messages, website contacts, texts, and calls about my birds. In order to keep my sanity I needed a better way to manage my wait list. Hence in 2017 I tried out a new policy for my wait list. My hope is to keep the requests and inquires better organized and to have those wanting hatching eggs and birds share little bit more of the responsibility of ordering.
Also, to better assist you and answer your questions in a timely manner please see my For Sale tabs and also my Frequently Asked Questions tab (still a work in progress). Although I don’t have time to update my website all of the time it is fairly up-to-date and has a good deal of information you need to answer your questions. Chances are if you have a question a dozen more people have had the same question and in which case I’ve tried to address it on my website. If you do have additional questions please contact me but also realized that it may take me a few hours, a few days, or even a couple weeks to get back with you.

New Wait List Policy – Effective Starting January 1st 2017
Hatching Eggs:
I begin taking orders for hatching eggs on March 1st of each year. I stop taking orders for hatching eggs around June 1st each year. Those with inquiries and requests after June 1st each year will need to contact me on/after March 1st of the next year to be placed on my wait list for hatching eggs.
If you know you want hatching eggs but it is after June 1st please feel free to contact me with your questions but also know that it is your responsibility to contact me again on/after March 1st of the next year to be placed on my wait list for eggs.
- FAQ:
- Question: I want to order 1 dozen Rouen hatching eggs but it is July 2nd 2017 can I be placed on the wait list for shipping next spring in 2018?
- Answer: I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have about my Rouens, shipping eggs, payment, incubation, or hatching. However, please contact me on or after March 1st 2018 to let me know you want eggs so I can add you to my wait list. This policy is to help me keep my wait list organized and give me more time with my farm, family, and birds.
If you'd like to order eggs from more than one breed or variety of poultry we offer please understand that they may need to be shipped separately and may also need to be sent at different times.
- For example: If you wanted to order 1 dozen Rouen eggs and 1 dozen white and gray Call Assorted eggs you may be 3rd on my wait list for Rouen eggs but 8th on my wait list for Call eggs. Therefore I'd have the Rouen eggs ready to ship much quicker than the Call eggs. I try to ship multiple orders at the same time but I can't guarantee this.
Chicks, Keets, Goslings, Ducklings:
I begin taking orders for chicks, keets, goslings, and duckligns on April 1st of each year. I stop taking orders for most baby poultry in June or July depending on how the hatching season is going. The exception being guinea keets which may be available through June and July.
If you know you want to order baby poultry but it is after June please feel free to contact me with your questions but also know that it is your responsibility to contact me again on/after April 1st of the next year to be placed on my wait list for baby poultry.
- FAQ:
- Question: I want to order 6 gray Rouen ducklings but it is July 2nd 2017 can I be placed on the wait list?
- Answer: I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have about my Rouens. If I have extra ducklings left over you’d be welcome to them. I try not to hatch extras though so if I am sold out then you will need to contact me on or after April 1st 2018 to let me know you want chicks so I can add you to my wait list. This policy is to help me keep my wait list organized and give me more time with my farm, family, and birds.

Young Started Birds:
I begin taking orders for young started birds – fall delivery, pick-up, and shipping – on June 1st of each year. I stop taking orders for young started birds on December 31st each year. Those with inquiries and requests for young started birds after December 31st will need to contact me on or after June 1st of the next year to be placed on my wait list.
If you know you want birds from me but it is after December 31st please feel free to contact me with your questions but also know that it is your responsibility to contact me again after June 1st of the next year to be placed on my wait list for birds.
- FAQ:
- Question: I want to order 1 pair of gray Rouens but it is March 1st 2017 can I be placed on the wait list now or do I have to wait until June 1st 2017?
- Answer: I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have about my Rouens. If I have extra Rouens you’d be welcome to them but by December 31st I am almost certainly sold out of extras. If I am sold out then you will need to contact me on or after June 1st 2018 to let me know you want a pair of Rouens so I can add you to my wait list. This policy is to help me keep my wait list organized and give me more time with my farm, family, and birds.

Hatching Egg Pricing and Shipping Policy
- Effective Starting January 1st 2017
- I charge a flat rate for shipped hatching eggs so all egg prices listed on my website include shipping.
- Eggs picked up from my farm or a show will be priced per egg or per dozen. If you'd like to pick eggs up instead of having them shipped please contact me for those prices.
- USPS Priority Mail postage will be offered for egg shipments. Priority Mail generally takes 2-3 days for delivery but it is not guaranteed and can on occasion take 5+ days.
- I cannot guarantee what day eggs will arrive and I will not send replacement eggs due to the eggs getting delayed past the “general” shipment time frame of 2-3 days. The USPS does not guarantee delivery dates for Priority Mail and neither can I.
Minimum Order Policy on Select Baby Poultry
- Effective Starting January 1st 2017
Chicks:
- There is a minimum order of 2 straight run chicks and a maximum at my discretion
- There is NO minimum order on sexed pairs
- There is a minimum order of 4 straight run keets and a maximum at my discretion
- There is a minimum order of 4 straight run ducklings and a maximum at my discretion
- There is a minimum order of 2 straight run goslings and a maximum at my discretion
Baby Poultry Ordering and Payment Policy
- Effective January 1st 2017
I fill orders on a first come first served basis and availability depends on my own incubation schedule. For many orders I have to incubate extra eggs to get enough for your order as well as for myself.
Because of this, I require Payment in full BEFORE I will incubate eggs for an order. The sooner payment is received the sooner I can start the process of filling your order. Payments are non-refundable unless I am unable to fill your order.
If I end up hatching extra chicks, keets, ducklings, & goslings from my usual incubation of eggs for myself then those extras will be made available for sale. I will not hold any extras past 1 week unless advanced payment has been made.
PayPal Payments Policy
- Effective January 1st 2017
LIVE BIRD ORDERS ONLY: For PayPal payments, there will be a 4% service fee to cover what PayPal charges me to receive payments.
- For example if you owe $100 that means you'll need to actually send $104 as payment through PayPal
- $100 x 4% = $104
- You are always welcome to send a check or money order
HATCHING EGG ORDERS ONLY: For PayPal payments, I do NOT charge additional fees associated with egg orders because I factor in the fees to the flat rate I charge for eggs.
Concept in progress please ignore below for now... thanks!
